He suggested that Vietnamese enterprises should map out proper business strategies at early stage. They should also pay due attention to increasing investment in infrastructure as well as marketing and promotional activities.
According to the Ministry of Information and Technology (MIC), Việt Nam's telecommunication market stands one of the world's fastest growing ones, with around 70.9 million telephone subscribers, including nearly 60 million mobile users by the end of October.
Now, the country has some 21 million Internet users, accounting for 23% of the total population.
Việt Nam's rapid development of information technology and communications has brought about series of new services, giving the country good opportunities to build legal framework for this type of technology, Deputy Minister of MIC Lê Nam Thắng.
In recent years, Việt Nam has issued policies to boost IT development like opening door to telecommunication market, speeding up competition, enhancing IT services, encouraging and all economic sectors to take part in telecom business activities. For 3G technology, the MIC is considering to license four enterprises to deploy the technology in early 2009, in favor of developing infrastructure and value-added services.
