According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, export could rebounce because processing businesses had sped up trade promotion and market expansion. In addition, many localities found best-selling products so as to outline proper production and processing plan in line with market demands.

Vietnamese businesses also boosted the export to Asian markets, especially Japan, Republic of Korea, ASEAN and Taiwan and regional countries. Their products met quality and hygiene standards to win customers’ trust.

EU continues to be the largest importer of Vietnamese seafood, with the turnover of over US $846 million, increasing 28.2% compared to the same period last year. Japan ranked the second, with US $610 million and an increase of 16.2%.

Given to tra and basa fish, Russia and Ukraine remained the biggest partners. The sales of this item to Russia reached US $155 million, up 188%. The figures for Ukraine were nearly US $105 million and 255%. Egypt proved a promising consumer with the turnover of US $36.5 million, an increase of 250%.
