CPI slightly increases in Hà Nội and HCMC

VGP – According to Hồ Chí Minh City’s Statistics Office, the city’s consumer price index (CPI) in July has increased by 0.68% against the previous month.

Transport, telecommunication, and post services have scored the highest price increase ( 2.69%), followed by housing, electric power, water supply and building materials ( 1.5%).

Prices of cultural, entertainment and tourist products; food and catering services; domestic equipment and utensils have slightly gone up. Other commodities seemed to stay quite stable.

Meanwhile, Hà Nội’s CPI has climbed up by 0.77% or 10.94% compared with the figures of June and the same period last year respectively, reported the city’s Statistics Office. 

All ten groups of consumer goods in the CPI basket have increased in price compared with last month. Commodities experiencing the sharpest price rise include housing, electricity, water supply, and fuel ( 2.58%), followed by transport and post-telecommunication services ( 2.76%).

Beverages and tobacco; garments, footwear, domestic equipment and utensils; medicines, healthcare and education services; cultural and entertainment products; and others all have their prices increased, ranging from 0.33% to 0.95%.

Also in July, the price of gold has decreased by 0.15%, but that of the US Greenback rose by 1.19% against last month.
