Green-Biz 2009 will open on September 17 in Hà Nội

The event, christened “GreenBiz 2009 – European Green Business Solutions for Việt Nam,” will showcase the latest technologies in the world and European solutions to Việt Nam’s development challenges with particular focus on the energy, water, transport and construction sectors, and effective ways of leveraging the financing available for “Green” projects.

The event is shaped with a comprehensive and unique structure bringing together the key figures from the European and Vietnamese business communities, government, academia, consultancies and financing institutions to present possible options and develop common solutions for Việt Nam.

Green-Biz 2009 will provide different stakeholders with the ability to discuss partnering, business deals, licensing and funding needs, with a view to meeting Việt Nam’s demands for both today and tomorrow while paving the way for a sustainable future.

In his welcome message, Alain Cany, Chairman of EuroCham and Mentor of the GreenBiz project, stated that while the global economy is slowing, Việt Nam remains one of the fastest growing countries in Asia with a huge demand for infrastructure investment to sustain further growth and an increasingly pressing need for environmentally sustainable solutions.

Green-Biz will bring about the opportunity to discuss concrete investment chances directly with the relevant Vietnamese decision makers, as well as address the challenges that Việt Nam is facing to make the business environment yet more conducive for green investments, said Mr. Alain Cany.
