Viet Nam honored as Asia’s Leading Destination in 2021

VGP – Viet Nam has been honored as Asia's Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination by the World Travel Awards (WTA) in its list of Asia 2021 winners.

The World Travel Awards (WTA) names Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the central province of Quang Nam, as Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination in 2021

In the awards list, the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism won Asia’s Leading Tourist Board 2021.

Meanwhile, Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the central province of Quang Nam, was named Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination, Ha Long Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh, the UNESCO World Natural Heritage, as Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction, and Cuc Phuong National Parklocated in the northern province of Ninh Binh as Asia’s Leading National Park.

Notably, Viet Nam Airlines won the award for Asia’s Leading Airline for Economic Class, while Vietravel was awarded Asia’s Leading Tour Operator title.

Sun World Ba Na Hills in Da Nang, Avana Retreat in Hoa Binh, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay in Phu Quoc, MuongThanh Luxury Hotel in Nha Trang, and Hotel de la Coupole - MGallery in Lao Cai all won awards in the hotel and resort category.

The results follow a year-long search for the world’s top travel, tourism and hospitality brands. Votes were cast by travel industry professionals and the public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner.

World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. The World Travel Awards brand is recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence.
