Health ministry confirms 4,045 new COVID-19 cases

VGP – There were 4,045 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

The latest patients consist of 17 imported cases and 4,028 domestic infections in 47 cities and provinces, namely Ho Chi Minh City (966), Binh Duong (524), Dong Nai (429), An Giang (297), Soc Trang (296), Dak Lak (193), Bac Lieu (155), Tay Ninh (132), Tra Vinh (113), Long An (88), Kien Giang (83), Tien Giang (78), Ha Giang (68), Binh Thuan (51), Can Tho (48), Gia Lai (44), Khanh Hoa (43), Ca Mau (42), Dong Thap (41), Thanh Hoa (38), Phu Tho (34), Thua Thien-Hue (32), Nghe An (27), Quang Nam (17), Ba Ria – Vung Tau (16), Vinh Long (15), Ben Tre (15), Ha Noi (14), Quang Ngai (12), Binh Phuoc (12), Nam Dinh (11), Quang Binh (11), Ninh Thuan (11), Binh Dinh (11), Kon Tum (10), Da Nang (9), Bac Ninh (8 ), Lam Dong (8 ), Ha Nam (6), Dak Nong (5), Bac Giang (3), Phu Yen (3), Hai Duong (2), Quang Tri (2), Lai Chau (2), Tuyen Quang (2), and Bac Kan (1).

These patients bring the national caseload to 888,940, of which 884,177 are locally transmitted cases recorded since April 27 when the fourth COVID-19 wave began.

The same day, the ministry reported 1,314 recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 805,978, accounting for more than 90 percent of the national tally.

The ministry also announced further 53 fatalities in Ho Chi Minh City (30), Binh Duong (12), Dong Nai (5), Long An (2), An Giang (2), Tay Ninh (1), and Bac Lieu (1), raising the country’s death toll to 21,673 or representing 2.5 percent of the total infection cases.

The nation has adminstered 72,929,311 COVID-19 doses, an increase of 936,739 doses from Saturday./.
