Additional 1,300 medical workers sent to southern COVID-19 hotspots

VGP – Over 1,300 medical workers from the 9th Military Region, the 108 Military Central Hospital, Quang Ninh, and Nghe An province have been deployed to support southern localities to combat the pandemic.

Military soldiers are ready to support COVID-19 southern hotspot, Can Tho, September 22

On Monday morning, in Can Tho city, the 9th Military Region organized a ceremony to see off a delegation of 1,000 military soldiers, doctors, nurses to join COVID-19 response efforts in HCMC.  They will be divided into 250 teams to help District 7,  one of the ‘red zones’ in HCMC to collect swabs and speed up the testing drive.

The same day, 202 medical staffs of the 108 Military Central Hospital left Noi Bai International Airport for HCMC to help the southern metropolis enhance COVID-19 treatment capacity.

Earlier, a delegation of 70 health workers left Quang Ninh province for HCMC, bringing the total number of 900.

On September 21, the Nghe An Health Department organized a ceremony to see off 50 medical workers to Binh Chanh district Hospital. So far, Nghe An province has sent 320 medical workers to support southern pandemic hotspots./.
