All countries must strictly comply with int'l treaties to which they are signatories

VGP – All the countries need to strictly comply with the international treaties to which they signatories, particularly the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982) – a legal framework governing all activities at sea and ocean, when they promulgate their domestic sea-related laws.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang made that above statement on September 1 in reply to reporters’ question about Viet Nam's reaction to China's official enforcement of the revised Maritime Traffic Safety Law.

Viet Nam resolutely and persistently takes measures in accordance with international law to exercise and protect its sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, and its sovereignty, sovereign right and jurisdiction over waters defined in line with the 1982 UNCLOS, she asserted.
