The meeting agreed that this year, police forces of the two countries will continue to enforce an agreement on civil and criminal judicial assistance, the governmental-level agreement on drug prevention and control and a cooperative agreement between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Lao Security Ministry.

Both sides will share more information of crimes, social safety and order, especially transnational crimes, crimes relating to Vietnamese nationals in Laos and vice versa. They will open more training courses for policemen from both countries.

Vietnamese and Lao police forces will create a mechanism for comprehensive, flexible and fruitful cooperation from central to grassroots levels, especially in areas sharing the borderline, to tackle pending problems in security and order, crime prevention and immigration.

Liaison police offices will be established in each country to make the cooperation more efficiently.
