Electricity retail prices are calculated under a ladder-climbing list

The move aims to realize the Government’s decision on market-based electricity prices in 2009 and the period of 2010-12.

Accordingly, the retail electricity prices, calculated under a ladder-climbing list, will be applied for households for daily demands.

To assist workers, pupils and students, the MIT regulated that if these users are renting houses with the term of at least 12 months, every four people will make up a household.

Retail prices are also provided for different users, such as producers, businesses, pumping stations, administrative and non-production agencies.

Cheapest prices go in rural areas. The bloc of first 50 kWh will cost VND 420 per kWh. The 401st kWh on will charge VND 1,345 each.

Notably, there are three groups of selling prices (normal-demand hour, rush hour and low-demand hour) applied for users engaging in business, production, services.
