More medical workers sent to southern localities to help fight COVID-19

VGP – Thousands of medical teachers and students have been sent to help Ho Chi Minh City and other southern localities in the fight against COVID-19.

The Health Department of Thanh Hoa province held a ceremony to see off a delegation of 59 health workers who volunteer to join COVID-19 response efforts in Ho Chi Minh City.

To date, Thanh Hoa has sent 285 health workers to Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Dong Nai, the current biggest COVID-19 hotspots in Viet Nam.

* A delegation of 80 health workers of the National Lung Hospital left Ha Noi for Dong Nai province to assist their colleagues in COVID-19 treatment at the Thong Nhat General Hospital.

* As many as 106 teachers and students of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy departed for Binh Duong.

They will be responsible for collecting test samples, administering vaccines, and treating COVID-19 patients.

* The Military Hospital 110 sent additional 27 health workers to southern localities.

A delegation of health workers of the Ha Noi-based Cancer Hospital before departing for Ho Chi Minh City

* Ha Noi-based Cancer Hospital organized a ceremony this morning to see off 50 medical workers who volunteer to join COVID-19 treatment efforts in Ho Chi Minh City.

* Hue Central Hospital in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue has sent 52 doctors and nurses to work at the active resuscitation department of the hospital’s branch in Ho Chi Minh City.

* Da Nang Hospital C sent 15 doctors, 29 nurses and five technicians to the southern province of Binh Duong – the second biggest COVID-19 hotspot in Viet Nam.

* The northern province of Hoa Binh sent 20 medical workers to Binh Duong province

* The the central province of Quang Ngai decided to dispatch 34 doctors and nurses to Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Chanh district.

* The central province of Quang Nam sent 30 doctors, nurses and technicians to assist their partners inHo Chi Minh City’s field hospitals.

To date, the locality has dispatched 100 volunteer doctors to Ho Chi Minh City.

The Central Eye Hospital decided to send additional 40 doctors, nurses and technicians to assist COVID-19 treatment in field hospital No. 16 located in Ho Chi Minh City’s district 7.

* The Central Hospital of Otolaryngology left Ha Noi for Ho Chi Minh City’s field hospital No. 16.

Students of the Military Medical University ready before leaving Ha Noi  for southern localities

August 21

* A delegation of 1,500 teachers and students from Ha Noi-based Bac Mai Medical College left for Ho Chi Minh City.

* The same day, a delegation of 295 teachers and students from Military Medical University also left Ha Noi for southern localities hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. They will be divided into 60 groups to take care of COVID-19 patients isolated and treated at home.

Doctors and nurses from Ha Noi-based Friendship Hospital before departure for Tien Giang province

A delegation of 30 doctors and nurses from Ha Noi-based Friendship Hospital arrived in Tien Giang on August 18 to help the southern province fight COVID-19.

They will assist the local healthcare sector in COVID-19 treatment.

Earlier, the hospital sent 44 doctors and nurses to Ho Chi Minh City and Tien Giang province.

Ha Noi-based Military Medical University sent 100 students to a field hospital for COVID-19 treatment in the southern province of Binh Duong.
