U.S. considers more vaccine donation to Viet Nam: Ambassador

VGP – The U.S. is considering more COVID-19 vaccine donation to Viet Nam, according to Vietnamese Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc.

The U.S. provided Viet Nam with five million out of 23 million vaccine doses it shared to 20 countries and territories in Asia, said the diplomat.

The first two million doses of Moderna vaccine donated by the U.S. Government through COVAX landed in Viet Nam on July 10.

The delivery of more than three million doses of Moderna vaccine arrived in the Southeast Asian country on Saturday night, of which nearly 1.5 million was sent to Ho Chi Minh City the same day.

So far, Viet Nam has received 14 million vaccine doses from various supply sources, including 7,493,300 doses via the COVAX Facility, the Ministry of Health said on Saturday.

As of July 24, as many as 4,478,757 doses have been administered, with 353,601 people fully vaccinated./.
