First session of 15th National Assembly opens

As scheduled, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will deliver the opening speech on this morning.

Permanent NA Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man will present a report on the outcomes of the election of deputies to the 15th NA and people's councils at all levels.

NA deputies will discuss, vote and adopt the Resolution on the number of NA Vice Chairmen and members of the NA Standing Committees.

At this sitting, held from July 20-31, the legislators cast vote to elect State President, Prime Minister, NA Chairman, Vice President, NA Vice Chairmen, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

Right after being elected by the NA, the NA Chairman, the State President, the Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court will take the oath of office before the National Assembly as defined by the 2013 Constitution.

The legislative body will also scrutinize the Government’s reports on socio-economic performance in the first half of 2021 and solutions for the second half, and thrift practice and anti-waste in 2020.

It will also discuss on the five-year socio-economic development plan, five-year public investment plan, investment guidelines for national target programs on new rural development and sustainable poverty reduction and social welfare for the 2021-2025 period./.
