Gov’t okays negotiations to buy 40 million Sputnik V vaccine doses

VGP – The Government has issued Resolution No. 73/NQ-CP approving the Ministry of Health’s proposal for negotiations to buy 40 million doses of Sputnik-V vaccine.

The ministry is responsible for introducing the Vietnamese T&T Group to the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) so that both sides could start negotiations on the deal.

All the costs of the vaccine doses will be covered by the T&T Group.

The ministry shall grant license for importing the vaccines which will be administered freely.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is tasked to conduct related diplomatic procedures while the Ministry of Transport will coordinate in transporting the vaccines./.

Up to date, 6.1 million doses vaccines have been delivered to Viet Nam, of which 4,040,783 vaccine doses were injected, with 271,409 individuals having been fully vaccinated./.
