Viet Nam reports 85 new COVID-19 cases, 138 recoveries

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 85 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday evening, bringing the national patient tally to 13,947.

The latest patients include three Vietnamese returnees who entered the nation via the border gates in the southern provinces of Tay Ninh and Kien Giang.

All the others are domestic infections recorded in Ho Chi Minh City (61), Da Nang (6), Bac Ninh (4), Long An (3), Nghe An (5), and Bac Giang (1). Of these, 81 cases were detected in quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

The ministry reported that 138 patients were discharged from hospitals raising the total number of recoveries to 5,684.

It also announced a 61-year-old woman in the southern province of Tien Giang became the 70th Coronavirus-related death.

The deceased woman suffered from type 2 diabetes and hypertension before testing positive for the virus./.
