Viet Nam reports 90 new COVID-19 cases, one more death

VGP – The Ministry of Health has reported an additional 90 COVID-19 cases on Monday noon, bringing the national tally to 13,348.

The latest cases include two Vietnamese returning home via Moc Bai international border gate in the southern province of Tay Ninh.

All the others are domestic infections recorded in HCMC (63), Bac Giang (16), Nghe An (four), Bac Ninh (three), and Ha Tinh (two). Of these, 87 were founded in quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

Among the national caseload, 11,647 are community infection cases including 10,077 cases having been confirmed since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence broke out.

The ministry also said a 75-year-old male patient infected with COVID-19 has become the latest death, taking the death toll to 67.

The deceased patient (Patient 11,529), who is a resident in District 8, HCMC, was admitted to Cu Chi field hospital after being confirmed positive for COVID-19. He was diagnosed with type 2  diabetes, high blood pressure, and dyslipidemia.

He was treated with numerous drugs, ventilators, and other measures, but responded poorly to treatments.

This is the 32nd Coronavirus-related death since the fourth COVID-19 wave began./.
