COVID-19 fight: PM summons urgent meeting with leaders of Bac Giang, Bac Ninh

VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh summoned an urgent online meeting with Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces on Wednesday morning amid complicated evolution of COVID-19 pandemic in the two northern localities.

Addressing the event, the Government chief tasked the participants to discuss drastic and prompt measures to quickly contain the COVID-19 outbreaks in these localities.

Bac Giang recorded 1,454 COVID-19 cases linked to three outbreaks in Phuong commune of Luc Nam district, Van Trung industrial park, and Quang Chau industrial park.

The local authorities have tracked down 13,173 F1 individuals (who came in close contact with positive cases) and 61,341 F2 individuals (who came in close contact with F1 individuals).

Bac Giang has tested 591,604 out of the total 636,764 samples as of Wednesday morning.

It is forecast that the number of new cases will fall in the coming days as high-risk groups have been isolated and tested.

Meanwhile, the nearby province of Bac Ninh has reported 556 cases and identified 37,012 F1 and F2 individuals.

More positive cases are expected in the coming days but the pandemic situation has been gradually put under control.
