Vietnamese returnee tests positive for COVID-19 after competing mandatory quarantine period

VGP – Passengers onboard flight VJ3613 from Japan to Da Nang on April 7 shall have to immediately contact the nearest medical facilities for advice and COVID-19 tests, the Ministry of Health announced Thursday.

The announcement was made as a 28-year-old man, one of the passengers onboard the flight, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 after completing 14-day mandatory quarantine in the central city of Da Nang.

He had tested negative for the virus thrice before returning to his native land of Ha Nam on April 22.

However, his father reported to the local authorities on April 24 that his son developed symptoms like cough, fever and sore throat.

Under the current regulations, one shall have to complete 14-day mandatory quarantine period and then isolate himself at his place of residence for another 14 days if he returns to Viet Nam from abroad./.
