Four Foreigners Among 12 New COVID-19 Cases

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 12 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, raising the national patient tally to 2,524.

The latest comprise eleven imported cases and one local infection in Hai Duong, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

Specifically, patient 2213 is a 44-year old Taiwanese man who landed at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport on February 22.

He is being treated at the Binh Duong Provincial General Hospital.

Patients numbered from 2514 to 2516 are Chinese nationals who flew from Seoul, the Republic of Korea to Ho Chi Minh City on March 5.

They are being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

Patients 2517-2523 are Vietnamese repatriated from the Philippine on March 7.

They are being treated at the Ninh Thuan Provincial General Hospital.

Patient 2524 is a native of Hai Duong, who came in close contact with patients 2210 and 2389 and has been quarantined since February 14.

Of the national caseload, 1,920 have recovered and exited hospitals while 35 others have been reported dead.

The nation is placing more than 45,000 under medical surveillance and quarantine nationwide./.
