Weekly COVID-19 update: VN records 65 new cases, 159 recoveries

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 65 new COVID-19 infection cases and 159 recovered cases from February 22-29.

The number of local COVID-19 infection cases recorded since January 27, 2021

The latest patients included 61 local infections and four imported cases, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Of the latest patients, 56 were documented in Hai Duong, three in Hai Phong and one in Quang Ninh.

Among the imported cases, one was a Japanese national who tested positive for COVID-19 after authorities found him dead at a hotel in Ha Noi.

At present, Hai Duong remains the biggest COVID-19 hotspot in the nation since the resurgence of local transmissions on January 27, with 665 cases, followed by Quang Ninh (61), Ho Chi Minh City (36), Ha Noi (35), Gia Lai (27), Binh Duong (six), Bac Ninh (five), Hai Phong (four), Dien Bien (three), Hoa Binh (two), Hung Yen (two), Ha Giang (one).

Over the past week, 159 patients were declared free of the virus, raising the total recoveries to 1,876./.
