Eighteen new COVID-19 infections recorded on Thursday morning

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 18 locally-transmitted cases of COVID-19 on Thursday morning, raising the national tally to 2,109.

The latest cases are residents in Quang Ninh (three) and Hai Duong (15), taking the number of local infections to 522 over the past 15 days.

Specifically, patient 2092 is a 26-year-old-man in Dong Trieu District, Quang Ninh Province. He was identified as F1 individual of patient 1959.

Patient 2093 is a four-year-old boy in Quang Ninh’s Dong Trieu District. The boy was known as F1 of other patients 1633, 1656, 1655 and has been quarantined since January 28.

Patient 2094 is a 23-year-old woman in Quang Ninh’s Dong Trieu District. She is a worker of Viet Nam Poyun electronics Co.Ltd in Hai Duong’s Chi Linh City where a series of workers have been infected with COVID-19. The patient has been quarantined since January 29. 

The 15 patients are numbered 2095-2109. They are F1 individuals and have been isolated before being tested positive for the virus.

Of the national tally, 1,480 patients have recovered and exited hospitals while 35 others have been reported dead.

Among the current patients, 14 have tested negative for the virus once, 18 twice, and four thrice.

As many as 114,796 people, who had been in close contact with confirmed cases or came from the pandemic-hit regions, are being placed under quarantine nationwide, including 772 at hospitals, 19,960 at concentrated quarantine sites, and 94,164 at places of residence.

In a bid to live safely with the pandemic, people are encouraged to strictly follow the Ministry of Health’s 5K message: khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) and khai bao y te (health declaration)./.
