Trade maintains steady growth in 2015-2020

VGP – Viet Nam's trade with the rest of the world maintained upward trajectory in the 2015-2020 period and trade surplus rose to a record high of US$19.1 billion in 2020, official data showed.

In 2020, the country's trade value enjoyed a surge of 5.1% to US$543.9 billion compared to 2019 despite facing numerous difficulties, according to the General Statistics Office.

The nation currently ranks 26th out of 240 economies in the world in terms of export turnover, with an export growth averaging over 20% annually over the past 35 years. 

Viet Nam's total export and import value in 2020 picks up 5.1% against the previous year.

Viet Nam's trade surplus in 2020 sets a new record of US$19.1 billion.

The export value of six key items hits nearly US$181 billion in 2020.
