Investment and trade cooperation enhanced between VN and Libya

VNGOVNet – Vietnam wants to strengthen its cooperation with Libya in oil and gas exploration and exploitation, labor export and housing construction. Vietnamese Deputy PM, Foreign Minister Phạm Gia Khiêm stressed so in the reception to Mr. Mohamed Omar Al-Barani, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Great Socialist People’s Libya Arab Jamahiryia, in the afternoon of February 01 at the head office of the Government.

In the reception, Deputy PM, Foreign Minister Phạm Gia Khiêm gladly said that the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries, two Governments, and two Foreign Ministries is growing well on their already good friendship. However, the two countries have not made full use of their potentialities and strengths. The Deputy PM expressed his wish that, in the time to come, Vietnam and Libya will boost their cooperation in trade, especially in the fields which Vietnam has advantages. The Deputy PM also revealed that the Vietnamese Government is actively preparing a joint meeting of the two Governments which shall be held as soon as possible.

The Libyan Deputy Foreign Minister agreed with the proposals of the Vietnamese Deputy PM. He briefed the host on the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries that took place in the morning in the same day, happily calling it a step forward to deepen the bilateral relationship. He asserted that the Libyan Government always attaches great importance to cooperating with ASEAN, especially Vietnam. At present, over 1,000 Vietnamese laborers are working in Libya and they are highly valued by the Libyan Government./.
