HCL Technologies Group, one of the three largest technology groups in India, plans to open an office in Viet Nam.

HCL began its business operations in Viet Nam in July, with a goal to hire more than 3,000 local university graduates and experienced professionals over the next three years.

The delivery center, which will be run by HCL Viet Nam Co., will train local manpower in partnership with local software and engineering institutions, HCL said in a statement.

The new company will support HCL’s global client base across industries and verticals, including banking and financial services, healthcare, infrastructure, engineering and cyber security.

Sanjay Gupta, corporate vice-president, HCL committed to bringing new opportunities for both young and experienced talent in Viet Nam, to work for a leading global technology company without having to move out of their home country.

Viet Nam and its skilled youth have the true potential to develop a robust IT industry, which is spearheading economic growth in the country, he added.

To kickstart its operations in the country, a Virtual Job Fair is being organized for college graduates and experienced professionals on December 19.

Earlier in May, Gupta visited Ho Chi Minh City to discuss a potential investment of a US$650-million IT center, which would employ 10,000 IT engineers in the next five years.

HCL has a turnover of about US$10 billion per year and is a corporation with more than 40 years of history specializing in manufacturing software for 19 different service industries. Currently the group has 150,000 engineers working in 47 countries.
