Korean, Indian experts among new cases of Covid-19

VGP – Viet Nam on Wednesday confirmed five new cases of Covid-19, including two experts from the Republic of Korea and India, bringing the patient tally to 1,321.

Specifically, patient 1,317 is a 33-year-old man from Lapeng Commune, Phu Thien District, Gia Lai Province.

He was brought home on November 11 from France on flight VN5010 and quarantined in the Southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

The patient is being treated at the locality’s Long Dien District Medical Center.

He is the 4th passenger onboard the flight to have been confirmed contracting the virus.

Patient 1,318 is a 37-year-old Indian man who landed at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on November 21.

He is being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

Patient 1,319 is a 23-year-old Korean man who flew from his country to Ho Chi Minh City on November 21.

He is being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

Patient 1,320 is a 57-year-old man from Ward 8, Vung Tau city, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

Patient 1,321 is a 24-year-old man from Xuan Dinh Ward, Bac Tu Lien District, Ha Noi.

Both of them were repatriated from the Republic of Korea on November 23 and quarantined in the central city of Da Nang.

They are being treated at the Da Nang Hospital for Lung Diseases.

Of the patient tally, 1,153 have recovered and exited hospitals while 35 others have been reported dead.

Viet Nam has gone 84 days without a single local infection thanks to its drastic and effective measures deployed so far to manage the pandemic./.
