Protocol for entry, medical surveillance and quarantine may be issued soon

The move aims to tighten preventive measures and ensure safety for incoming passengers amid swift and complicated evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic around the world.

As of 6:00 am on Friday, there were nearly 52.5 million infections, including 1.3 million deaths in 219 countries and territories, according to the ministry.

In the first two weeks of November, 6.5 million people contracted the virus, prompting many countries to tighten management measures, the ministry added.

Meanwhile, Viet Nam has gone 72 days without a single community transmission case of Covid-19, with total number of patients standing at 1,256.

The Southeast Asian country has conducted 1,339,465 Realtime RT-PCR tests so far.

Effective management of the pandemic has allowed Viet Nam to arrange nearly 200 rescue flights to bring home citizens stranded abroad due to Covid-19.

Viet Nam also allows experts, managers, investors, skilled workers and their family members to return to work in the country but borders remain shut for foreign tourists.

In September, the Government decided to resume international commercial flights to six destinations, namely Guangzhou (China), Taiwan (China), Seoul (the Republic of Korea), and Tokyo (Japan) from September 15, and to Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and Vientiane (Laos) from September 22./.
