VN, Pakistan look to closer cooperation in culture and education

VNGOVNet – Deputy PM, Foreign Minister Phạm Gia Khiêm said Vietnam and Pakistan should deepen cooperation in all fields while receiving the visiting Pakistani Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Akhtar Tufail in the afternoon of January 31.

Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm laid a particular stress on culture and education among others which will be discussed in a joint meeting of the two governments soon.

The Pakistani guest thanked the Vietnamese Government and people for helping Pakistan get over the recent damaging calamity and supporting Pakistan's bid to become a member of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Akhtar Tufail expressed his wish to see a strong rise in the bilateral friendly and cooperative relationship.

On the same day, Vietnamese Standing Deputy Foreign Minister Lê Công Phụng and his counterpart Mohammad Akhtar Tufail signed an agreement on visa exemption for the holders of diplomatic and official passports.

In 2007, the two countries will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties./.
