VN’s agricultural exports to EU increase

The export value of farm produce of the country to the EU in August and September increased 16.6% and 20.3%, respectively, against that of July.

The MARD said that in the coming time, it would continue to promote the restructuring of the agricultural sector towards increasing added value and sustainable development, quickly building the growing-area codes and geographical indications, ensuring traceability, quality, and food safety following the EU regulations, and focusing on removing yellow card on illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU) for Vietnamese aquatic products.

The ministry has encouraged export enterprises to expand their investment in intensive processing to fully tap opportunities and incentives brought by the EU – VietNam Free Trade Agreement, especially for processed products.

Moreover, it would continue to build a program to attract foreign direct investment from the EU to Viet Nam's agriculture in favor of the country’s participation in the global agriculture chain./.
