This is the gift of the Vietnamese Government to help Myanmar cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The same day, Tuan also handed over 13,100 face masks donated by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to the Myanmar side.

Last Friday, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh extended sympathy to State Councilor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi and Minister of International Cooperation Kyaw Tin, as the infection rate is rising quickly in Myanmar.

Minh reiterated Viet Nam’s solidarity with and support for Myanmar in the fight against the pandemic, announcing that Viet Nam will offer the second batch of medical supplies to help Myanmar overcome this hard time.

In July, Vietnamese Ambassador Ly Quoc Tuan also presented US$50,000 as a gift of the Vietnamese Government in a solidarity move to help the country combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of Tuesday, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Myanmar rose to 30,437, making the country a hotspot of COVID-19./.
