VN to offer medical supplies to help Myanmar fight COVID-19

VGP – The Government of Viet Nam will offer the second batch of medical supplies to help Myanmar contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the infection rate is rising quickly in Myanmar, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on Friday extended sympathy to State Councilor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi and Minister of International Cooperation Kyaw Tin.

Minh reiterated Viet Nam’s solidarity with and support for Myanmar in the fight against the pandemic, announcing that Viet Nam will offer the second batch of medical supplies to help Myanmar overcome this hard time.

Last July, Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Ly Quoc Tuan presented US$50,000 as a gift of the Vietnamese Government to help the country combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Myanmar reported a total of 22,445 COVID-19 cases with 535 deaths and 6,366 recoveries as of October 8, Myanmar Ministry of Health and Sports./.
