Three foreigners tested positive for COVID-19, total reaches 1,077

VGP – With three imported cases of COVID-19 confirmed this afternoon, the patient tally rose to 1,077, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Specifically, patients 1,075 and 1,076, aged 33 and 58 respectively, are experts from Chinese Taipei.

The pair entered Viet Nam through the Huu Nghi International Border Gate in Lang Son Province from China’s Guangdong Province on September 18 and have been quarantined in Phu Tho Province.

They first tested negative on September 19 but the second test results on Monday showed they are positive for the virus.

The patients are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 1,077 is a 48-year old male expert from India. He landed in Viet Nam on September 13 on flight 6E8979.

He tested negative for the first time on September 15 but the second test on September 28 turned out positive.

The man is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Of the country’s patient tally, 999 have recovered and exited hospitals while 35 others have been reported dead.

The nation is placing 16,829 people under isolation and medical surveillance, of whom 272 at hospitals, 10,995 at concentrated sites, and 5,562 at places of residence./.
