As the central city of Da Nang is the biggest COVID-19 hot spot recently, local students celebrate the start of the school-year with a virtual program broadcast on Da Nang TV at the same time with ceremonies in other localities.

Due to the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, most schools hold a solemn but short ceremonies with the direct attendance of only a limited number of students in line with epidemic prevention measures. Other students follow the ceremonies in their classrooms.
