VN confirms two new COVID-19 cases, total reaches 1,046

VGP – The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control just confirmed two new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s patient tally to 1,046.

Specifically, patient 1,045 is a 72-year old man in Thong Nhat Commune, Gia Loc District, Hai Duong Province.

He developed fever, headache and fatigue on September 19.

On August 30, he was admitted Hai Duong General Hospital where he was isolated and tested for COVID-19.

The man was confirmed positive on September 1 by the locality’s Center for Disease Control. He was then transferred to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong for isolation and further COVID-19 test.

The second test on September 2 showed that he is positive for the virus.

Patient 1,046 is a 30-year old male sailor working for Nippon Maru vessel returning from Japan.

After docking at Nha Trang port in Khanh Hoa Province on August 30, he was quarantined and had his samples tested.

He is being isolated and treated at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Khanh Hoa.

The same day, the National Steering Committee also reported that 11 more patients have been cleared of COVID-19, raising the number of recoveries to 746.

The COVID-19 death toll rose to 34, added the Committee./.
