Nearly 320 Vietnamese citizens safely repatriated from Canada

VGP – A Viet Nam Airlines flight was arranged by the Embassy of Viet Nam in Canada and relevant agencies of the two nations to carry home nearly 320 Vietnamese citizens from the Toronto International Airport.

Passengers onboard the flight were children under 18 (including newborn babies), the elderly, students who had finished their studies, severely ill people, workers with expired visas and labor contracts, stranded tourists, and those in especially disadvantaged circumstances.

The Embassy of Viet Nam in Canada sent its staff to the airport to assist the citizens with boarding procedures.

Upon their landing at the Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh Province on August 24, all the passengers and crew members were medically checked and quarantined in accordance with regulations on COVID-19 responses.

So far, Viet Nam has organized 108 rescue flights to bring home 27,599 citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19./.
