Five new COVID-19 cases in Da Nang confirmed, total rises to 1014

VGP – The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on August 22 confirmed five more COVID-19 infection cases in Da Nang City, raising the country’s patient tally to 1014.

As of August 22, Viet Nam records 527 COVID-19 infection cases linked to Da Nang City.

Patient 1010 is a 52-year old man in Hoa Hiep Bac, Lien Chieu District. He had close contact with a previously-announced COVID-19 patient (patient numbered 958).

Patient 1011 is a 38-year old woman in Thac Gian, Thanh Khe District. She is a trader at Tan Lap Market in Thac Gian, Thanh Khe District.   

Patient 1012 is a 69-year old woman in Vinh Trung, Thanh Khe District.

Patient 1013 is a 51-year old woman in Thuan Phuoc, Hai Chau District.

Patients 1012 and 1013 are traders at Sieu Thi Market in Chinh Gian, Thanh Khe District.

Patient 1014 is a 60-year old man in Xuan Ha, Thanh Khe District. He is the member of Lau Den Market Management Board in Xuan Ha, Thanh Khe District.

All of these patients have been isolated and treated at Hoa Vang field hospital.

According to the Committee, as many as 16 COVID-19 patients were declared clear of the virus and exited hospitals on August 22, including patients numbered 491, 502, 569, 578, 639, 640, 656, 658, 727, 805, 806, 810, 885, 920, 937 and 938.

Remarkably, patient 569 is a pregnant woman who gave birth to a baby girl on August 15 at Hoa Vang field hospital.

They will be medically monitored and isolated at places of residence in the next 14 days as regulated.

At present, 563 among 1014 COVID-19 cases in Viet Nam were successfully treated, accounting for 55.5%.

Nearly 104,793 people who have been in close contact with COVID-19 patients or repatriated from the pandemic-stricken areas are under medical surveillance, including 2,195 at hospitals, 32,168 at centralized quarantine facilities, and 70,430 at places of residences.
