COVID-19 patient tally reaches 989

VGP – Six people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 this afternoon, taking the country’s patient tally to 989, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

They include four residents of Da Nang and two returnees.

Specifically, patient 984 is a 45-year old man from Dong Hoi city of the central province of Khanh Hoa.

He flew to Cam Ranh airport in Khanh Hoa Province on August 7 from Taiwan and was immediately quarantined and tested for COVID-19.

The man is being treated at the Khanh Hoa Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

Patients 985 and 986 are natives of Da Nang, aged 30-65.

One of them took care of a patient at the Da Nang Hospital and the other is a trader at Hoa Cuong wholesale market in Da Nang’s Hai Chau District.

Patient 989 is a 35-year old man from Tuyen Hoa District of the central province of Quang Binh.

He landed at Ha Noi-based Noi Bai International Airport on July 29 on flight VN6 from Equatorial Guinea.

The man is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Of the country’s patient tally, 520 patients have been cleared of the virus and 25 others died, the National Steering Committee said.

At present, the nation is putting 87,672 people under medical surveillance, including 3,395 at hospitals, 24,511 at centralized quarantine camps and 59,766 at places of residence./.
