Covid-19 fight: People with travel records to Da Nang must be strictly monitored

VGP – The National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on Thursday urged localities to seriously monitor and quarantine those with travel records to Da Nang in abid to prevent spread of Covid-19.

The Steering Committee also ordered hospitals to strictly implement epidemiological regulations to prevent infections at the medical facilities.

The biggest risk comes from the three hospitals in Da Nang, thus, it emphasized the necessity to accelerate tracing and quarantining those who have come in contact with the confirmed Covid-19 patients, according to the Ministry of Health.

Three have been 268 community transmission cases of Covid-19 since July 25, of whom 193 are Da Nang residents, all linked to three hospitals in the central city, said Dang Quang Tan, Head of the General Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health.

Just one day after the emergence of the outbreak, Da Nang authorities introduced social distancing rules and the Ministry of Health has sent six teams to help the city contain the outbreak.

As of 3:46 pm on Thursday, Viet Nam confirmed 717 Covid-19 cases, including 381 recoveries and 10 fatalities./.
