VN confirms 21 new Covid-19 cases, total rises to 642

VGP - The National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control confirmed 21 new Covid-19 cases this afternoon, bringing the country's patient tally to 642.

The latest patients include 15 in Da Nang and six others in the nearby province of Quang Nam. All are linked to the Da Nang Hospital  - one of the three medical facilities being placed under lockdown.

Specifically, Quang Nam’s six patients are aged between 38 and 83. Three of them had visited patients at the Da Nang Hospital, one had been caretaker of a patient, two others took care and came in close contact with a patient at hospital, while another recived treatment at the hospital’s Kidney-Endocrinology Department.

All six patients are being isolated and treated at the Quang Nam General Hospital.

Meanwhile, patients 628-642 from Da Nang are aged between 20 and 78. Of these, 12 had been in contact with seven people who were later confirmed positive for Covid-19.

Two others took care of their family members at the Da Nang Hospital and the remainder had medical check-up in the central city’s Gia Dinh Hospital.

The nation's patient tally include 195 new cases linked to Da Nang Covid-19 outbreak that have been reported since July 25.

As of 6:05 pm on Monday, 374 patients have been cleared of the virus, accounting for 58.3% of the patient tally while six have been reported dead./.
