VN reports 37 new COVID-19 infection cases, total rises to 546

The National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control confirms 37 new COVID-19 infection cases on late July 31, raising the patients tally to 546.

Among the latest patients, 26 imported cases were sent for medical quarantine upon their arrivals while 11 community infections were uncovered in Ho Chi Minh City and the central province of Quang Nam.

Patient 510 is a 57-year old woman residing in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City. She took care for her parents in Da Nang Hospital, Da Nang Oncology Hospital and Da Nang Hoan My Hospital from May-July, 2020.

Patient 511-516 are Vietnamese crew members working on a gas carrier ship which travelled to Qatar, India and Singapore. All of them were quarantined right after entering Vung Tau Port on July 18.  

Patient 517 is a 55 year-old woman residing in Quang Ngai Province. She was hospitalized in Da Nang Hospital from June 29-July 22. On July 22, she was transferred to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

Patient 518 is a 61-year old woman in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City. From July 19-23 she was a caregiver of a previously-announced COVID-19 patient (patient numbered 436).

Patient 519 is a 40-year old man in Hoi An, Quang Nam Province. On July 23, he was the caregiver of patient 428 in Da Nang Hospital.

Patient 520 is a 51-year old woman in Quang Nam Province. From July 20-24 she treated for patient 433.

Patient 522 is a 67-year old man in Thang Binh, Quang Nam Province. From July 9-22, he was hospitalized in Da Nang Hospital.

Patient 523 is a 63-year old woman in Thang Binh, Quang Nam Province. She is the wife of patient 522. From July 9-22, she was took care of her husband in Da Nang Hospital.

Patient 524 is a 86-year old woman. She was treated at Da Nang Dermatology Hospital (from July 11-16), Binh An General Hospital (from July 18-27) and Quang Nam General Hospital (since July 27).

Patient 525 is a 90-year old man in Duy Xuyen, Quang Nam Province. He was hospitalized in Da Nang Hospital from July 13-20.

Patient 526 is a 50-year old man in Duy Xuyen, Quang Nam Province. From July 13-20, he was the caregiver of patient 525 in Da Nang Hospital.

Patient 527-546 are passengers on the flight VN6 returning from Equatorial Guinea and landing at Noi Bai International Airport in Ha Noi on July 29.
