The flight was arranged by Vietnamese competent agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar, and the low-cost carrier VietJet. The passengers included the elderly, pregnant woman, people with sickness, and other cases confronting difficult circumstances.
Strict security and safety measures were enforced during the flight to protect passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the disease.
From April 10 to July 30, local agencies coordinated with Viet Nam’s representative agencies overseas to launch 74 flights, bringing home about 18,042 Vietnamese citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19.
So far, Viet Nam confirmed 459 positive cases including 276 imported ones who were quarantined upon arrival./.
