Vietjet Air flight carries nearly 180 Vietnamese citizens in Brunei home on July 29, 2020.

These passengers are workers with expired contracts working for Lilama Corporation in Brunei and some visitors who were stranded in Brunei due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other disadvantaged cases.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei actively sent officials to the airports to support citizens to complete procedures for boarding the flight.

To protect health for citizens and prevent the transmissions of the virus, Vietjet strictly implemented measures on security, safety and mandatory quarantine during the flight.

After landing at Can Tho International Airport, all the crew members will be sent for medical checks and quarantine facilities as regulated.

From April 10 to July 29, local agencies coordinated with Viet Nam’s representative agencies overseas to launch 71 flights, bringing home about 17,613 Vietnamese citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19.

As of early July 29, Viet Nam has confirmed 446 COVID-19 infection cases, of whom 369 have been cleared of the virus and recovered, making up 84.2%.
