The Directive demonstrates the Government’s commitment to eradicate illegal wildlife trade and consumption.

Earlier in February, the Viet Nam Administration of Forestry had sent a document to provincial-level departments of agriculture and rural development, asking them to tighten control of and prevent wildlife trade.

All citizens, especially cadres, public employees and their relatives shall not be allowed to illegally hunt, trade, transport, kill, and store wildlife, read the Directive.

The Government ordered competent authorities to review the legal framework and put forwards necessary amendments to the current regulations on wildlife./.
