VN repatriates nearly 280 citizens from 11 European countries

VGP – Viet Nam sent an aircraft to repatriate nearly 280 citizens from Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Italy, Belgium, Demark, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary over the past two days, according to Foreign Ministry.

The passengers included children aged below 18, the elderly, sick persons, workers with expired labor contracts, and tourists stranded due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All of them had been instructed to travel to airports in Bucharest and Warsaw with support from embassy staffs in Romania and Poland and the host countries’ competent authorities to complete boarding procedures.

To ensure safety for the passengers and crew members, precautious measures were implemented throughout the flight.

After landing at the Da Nang international airport Wednesday, all the passengers and crew members were medically checked and quarantined as currently regulated.

This is the 60th rescue flight organized since April 10, bringing home 14,723 citizens from foreign countries and territories./.
