One more Russian expert confirmed infected with COVID-19 in Viet Nam

VGP – One more Russian oil expert has been confirmed contracting COVID-19 in Viet Nam, raising the patient tally to 384, the National Steering Committee reported Monday afternoon.

The latest patient is a 27-year old man who landed at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on July 11 and immediately sent to a centralized quarantine facility in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

This is the 10th Russian COVID-19 patient in Viet Nam. All of them are among passengers onboard flight IO4405 that arrived in Viet Nam on July 11.

He was first tested negative for the virus on July 13 but he got symptoms like fever, sore throat, and back pain on July 18.

His samples were sent to Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute and the test outcomes released on July 20 showed that he was infected with the virus.

The man is being treated at Ba Ria – Vung Tau’s General Hospital.

Viet Nam has gone 95 days without new community-transmitted case of COVID-19. Among the patient tally, 244 are imported cases, said the committee.

Earlier the same day, the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases announced that three more patients had been cleared of COVID-19, bringing the total recoveries to 360.

The recovered patients are numbered 362, 363, and 360. All of them are admitted to the hospital on July 5.

Patient 362 is a 34-year-old man from Phu Cat District, Binh Dinh Province 

Patient 363 is a 33-year-old man from Binh Giang District, Hai Duong Province.  

Patient 360 is a 34-year-old man from Quang Xuong District, Thanh Hoa Province./.
