The passengers included children under the age of 18, pregnant women, the elderly, workers with expired  contracts, tourists stranded in the country.

To ensure safety for the citizens and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, VietJet Air strictly implemented security, safety and hygiene measures during the flight.

Earlier, in mid-May, nearly 200 Vietnamese citizens who were stranded in the Philippines were also brought home safety.

Since April 10, Viet Nam has arranged 57 flights to repatriate 13,843 citizens from foreign countries and territories such as the U.S., Japan, the RoK, African countries, and South Asian ones.

Viet Nam recorded another imported COVID-19 case on July 19, bringing the country's patient tally to 383, reported the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Among the total, 357 have been cleared of the virus and 11.697 are being placed under medical surveillance, said the committee led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

The country has gone 94 consecutive days without community-transmitted case of COVID-19 by Monday, the committee added./.
