One more COVID-19 case confirmed, total rises to 373

VGP - A 53-year old man returning from Russian has been confirmed the latest COVID-19 case in Viet Nam, raising the patient tally to 373, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The man, who was onboard the flight VN5062, landed at Can Tho International Airport on July 9 and immediately was sent to a quarantine camp in Ca Mau Province.
 
He is being treated at the locality's General Hospital, said the committee.
 
Of the total cases, 352 have been cleared of the virus, accounting for 94.4%.
 
 
It has been 89 days since the last COVID-19 community infection case was confirmed in Viet Nam thanks to the country's drastic quarantine efforts.
 
As the pandemic has been put under control, Viet Nam has repatriated more than 10,000 citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19.
 
At present, as many as 13,357 people are under medical surveillance, including 72 at hospitals, 12,871 at centralized quarantine facilities and 414 at places of residence.
 
The sickest patient in Viet Nam is a 43-year old British pilot who returned to the UK on July 11 after 115-day treatment at two hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City.
 
His recovery is a miraculous story which shows the great devotion of Vietnamese authorities and health workers in curing COVID-19 patients, regardless of their nationality./.
