VN has over 65 million 3G and 4G subscribers in 2020
VGP – As of mid-2020, Viet Nam had 127 million mobile subscribers including 65.33 million 3G and 45 subscribers, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) reported.
As of late May, telecom service revenue hit VND 52,849 billion, down 4.85% against the same period last year due to negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Total number of mobile subscribers was estimated at 130 million, representing a year-on-year decline of 7.5 million.
The MoIC reported that after the Government removed social distancing rules, telecom service revenue experienced a month-on-month increase of 1.7% in May at VND 10,259 billion.
Specifically, revenue of mobile telecom services valued VND 7,404 billion (accounting for 72% of telecom service revenue). Meanwhile, fix telecom service revenue was VND 2,854 billion, up 0.5% against April and 32% against the same period last year./.
