270 RoK experts quarantined upon arrival

The experts, who will be working for LG Display, LG Electronics and LG Innotek, underwent medical check-ups at the airport and were subsequently transferred to three hotels in Hai Phong city and Hai Duong province for a 14-day quarantine period according to regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.

Meanwhile, all 15 crewmembers of the flight were quarantined in Ho Chi Minh City.

The experts were aboard the Vietnam Airline flight coded VN9417 that departed from Incheon International Airport and landed at Cat Bi International Airport at 12:30 on July 2.

The experts will work for three companies under LG Group in Viet Nam.

This is the first flight from abroad to have landed at the airport since the suspension of flights to and from abroad due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, this is the fifth flight carrying RoK experts to Viet Nam to work for LG Group under the agreement between the governments of Viet Nam and RoK.

Before boarding the plane in the RoK, the passengers had been granted ‘immunity passports’ by Korean authorities and accepted by Viet Nam.

Viet Nam Airlines strictly implemented security, safety and epidemiology measures during the flight, in order to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the possible spread of the virus.

Earlier, all passengers had to prove their health is in good condition and that they are negative for SARS-CoV-2 as certified by the RoK authorities and accepted by the Vietnamese side.

As of early July 3, Viet Nam has entered the 78th day without recording any new COVID-19 infection case in the community.

As many as 215 imported cases were sent for medical quarantine upon their arrival.

Among 355 COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam, 335 have been cleared of the virus and recovered, making up 94.4%.
