PM Phuc stated that Viet Nam, in its capacity as ASEAN Chair 2020, prioritizes the synchronous implementation of commitments, programs, master plans, the integration of mechanisms on women, and the substantial realization of the people-oriented and people-centered ASEAN Community.

He asked delegates to discuss ways to further enhance the role and contributions of women in the face of profound and strong changes of the digital age, with a focus on facilitating women’s creative and innovative participation in all the ASEAN Community building processes across the three pillars of politics-security, economy, and culture-society.

In addition, the PM suggested enhancing women’s contributions to the efforts to maintain peace, security, stability and sustainable development, while encouraging women’s full participation in planning programs and policies on peace, security and development at the national and regional levels, contributing to promoting multilateral cooperation, and upholding the rule of law and adherence to international law.

He stressed the need to create favorable conditions for women to promote their creativity and research, apply new technologies in start-up, seek employment and business opportunities, and adapt to the transformation requirements of the digital economy. /.
