342 Vietnamese citizens in Japan brought home

The flight is part of the ongoing joint efforts by the Vietnamese functional agencies and domestic airlines to bring home Vietnamese citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19.

Passengers onboard the flight included children under 18, the elderly, sick people and laborers with expired labor contracts and without residence. 

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan sent officials to the Japanese airport to support these citizens. 

With the aim of protecting health for citizens and prevent the transmissions of the virus, Viet Nam Airlines strictly implemented precautious measures. All the passengers and crew members received health check-ups and were quarantined in line with the country's current regulations.

This is the 28th repatriation flight arranged since April 24, with about 7,330 passengers from foreign countries and territories, official data showed.

As of June 24, Viet Nam had 349 COVID-19 patients, of whom 326 have been cleared of the virus, accounting for 93.4% of the patient tally, reported the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Viet Nam has gone 69 days without new COVID-19 infection case in the community./.
